In 1983, Aldo Haydar started his career as a Dj, working at Rockolla discotheque in Madrid, Spain, where Kraftwerk, B52’s, New Order and Ultravox played live shows usually. By this time up to 1985, Aldo Haydar worked at the best night clubs of that town like Leather, Studio 12 and Pacha. During the decade, he went on tour with the number one DJ Paul Oakenfold. They played together in San Pablo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where Aldo was an artistic producer of Columbia discotheque in San Pablo and Opera Rock in Porto Alegre.
Aldo Haydar’s got a distinctive and personal style, influenced by the European house and progressive house music, which creates special grooves and atmospheres on the dance floor. That’s why Aldo is one of the most importants and famous argentinian Djs. A prove of that is what Ministry of Sound wrote about him: “Aldo Haydar played an amazing set of sexy house and his album on Sum Records called London Underground perfectly reflects what a master behind the decks this man is”.
He played with Jodi (Way Out West) and Utah Saints, in the two last parties that MOS made in Buenos Aires at club ‘Big One’, where over 3,000 people follow the resident Dj Aldo Haydar every Saturday. Because of his incredible performances, Aldo became an international figure who’s shows extended to Brazil and Uruguay, where he used to be resident of ‘Gitana’ in Punta del Este News at the exclusive summer periods.
Aldo Haydar participated in many important argentinian raves like: Underground Park, No Limits Rave Festival, Rave Southamerican Tour 98, Ultimate Rave v2.v, Vive Cordoba 98, Dance Parade Festival at Divino Beach in Mar del Plata, Energy Parade Parties, Energy Rave Day I and II and Energy Ravevolution I and II, whose compilated CDS Ravevolution Session I and II were selected, remixed and compiled for BMG company by Haydar. Those were best sellers in 1998 and 1999, also the video clip Nine Drivers, which had a high rotation on MTV and MuchMusic channels. Institutionally, Aldo participated of the first official events dedicated to the electronic culture Ciclo Alternativa 1999 and 2000, organized by Buenos Aires City Government at Centro Cultural San Martin.
Continuing with his discographic activities, Aldo Haydar recorded Sweetly Summer (2000), with singles of Moby, Basement Jaxx, and many others. He presented it at Cream 2000 (in Buenos Aires) with the international dj Deep Dish, and a lot of national artists. His fourth CD was London Underground (2001) which received great views around the world, included Mos.com
His fifth CD it’s called Expansion (2002), where he shows to be the pioneer DJ and first promoter of the Progressive House style in Buenos Aires. The compilation includes Timo Maas, Oliver Moldan, Killahurtz, Trancetters and Dominion singles, and Feeway of his own authority. The CD was sold out in its first edition.
His most important event was when he performed at Creamfields Buenos Aires, from its first edition in 2001, where about 20,000 people danced with the best Djs in the world as Paul Oakenfold, Dave Seaman, Howie B, Justin Robertson, Satoshi Tomiie, Way Out West, Danny Rampling, Dj Dan, Layo & Bushwacka!, Circulation, and so on. He also played in the following editions of Creamfields Buenos Aires 2002 (25,000 people) and 2003, which counted with 32,000 people.
Nowadays he continues with the residence at ‘Big One’ and ‘Fiction Club’ and he’s still on tour around the country, sponsored by Speed Unlimited.
