DJ Alan Sax has been dj-ing for over 10 years. He has also been promoting and producing parties since 1990. He made his presence known in the underground electronic music scene in 1995 when he threw his first one-off event Ð BIG RED. He followed that party with Winterfresh in 1997 and Carefree in 1998.
Digital Domain, AlanÕs production company, is one of the oldest and most respected in the NYC area. Alan Sax also has a home-based record label Ð and is working on his latest project, invading the cyber-universe with www.BrooklynUnderground.net, a website dedicated to promoting and supporting local talent in electronic music, the arts, fashion, and the latest and hypest news in the New York Underground scene.
While all these projects have been developing and expanding over the years, Alan has been developing his own personal style with two turntables, a mixer, and some sweet records. He currently plays a mix of Trance and Techno, blending them together to create his own unique trademark sound. Alan Sax can truly represent the best of the Brooklyn Underground Sound spectacular. He has become a hot item among the local NYC DJ talent pool, for club events, weeklies, and one-off events along the East Coast United States and in Canada. His unique sound style not only keeps the dance floor grooving during prime time evening hours, but also during his famous morning sets! Alan loves to break out the best and newest records as well as all the old school classics for his amazing Progressive Trance closing sets that keep everyone moving until the late morning hours!
Alan has enjoyed weekly residencies in NYC at Tunnel (2000-2001), at Limelight (2000-2001), at Sound Factory (1998-1999), and at VinylÕs ÔUnityÕ Parties (1997-1998) that were produced by Digital Domain. He has also made special guest appearances at many other NYC clubs and lounges including Fun, Ohm, Speed, Exit, Liquid Lounge, and the Izzy Bar.
Alan Sax has performed with some of the biggest names in Techno, Trance, and House including Armand Van Helden, Todd Terry, Rabbit in the Moon, Robert Armani, Paul Johnson, Kimball Collins, George Acosta, Dj Tiesto, Crystal Method, Derrick May, Marco Carollo, Chris Fortier, Dave Hollands, Jeff Mills, Super DJ Dimtry, Lenny Dee, Adam X, Frankie Bones, Feelgood, Donald Glaude, Scott Henry, Micro, Keoki, Mistress Barbara, Laurent Ho, Joey Beltram, Bad Boy Bill, Terry Mullan, T-1000, Felix the Housecat, Cajmere, Mike Dearborn, Juan Atkins, as well as guest appearances at the monthly Gatecrasher Parties at Limelight, NYC.
Alan Sax is currently a monthly resident DJ at Soundfactory and Liquid. He was the Music Director at the world-famous Limelight, NYC until May 2001 and is currently Music Director at Sound Factory NYC.
