DJ Name: Aaron Bradley
Bio: Aaron has Been seriously listening to house music from about when he was 16. His involvement started off as just listening to pirate radio and late night shows playing out regularly in the GTA, to eventually managing www.FunkyHouseBeats.com. Aaron currently also does a weekly blogTV show called “Ill House Saturday’s” with special co-host guests from the site. With the site and blogtv keeping him so busy lately, he has managed to rebuild that buzz and network of friends which is getting him a lot of positive exposure.
Aaron was really influenced by people like Deadly Headly Jones, Billy K, DJ Fran (RIP), RC, DJ Sneak, Peter and Tyrone, Terry Mullin and Kenny Glasgow. He would say places like Palazzo, The Fluid, The Phoenix, RPM, The Orange Room, SYN, Oz, Emerald City, Buzz, Turbo, System, Fever, NRG (when it was good), The Purple Room, Kaboom (lol), Jafe, The Madd Bar, Industry and Limelight had the best nights, dancers, dj’s and music.
If you knew Aaron as a dj back then, you would know that his ultimate goal was to be able to play alongside the best DJs in Canada. We can definitely say that it happened… and that happened pretty early in his new passion. In around 96/97 Aaron was able to have a residency with John E and was lucky enough to open for headliners like Myka, Peter and Tryone, Matt C, Kenny Glassgow, Mario J, GoldFinger, Jason Hodges, Gryphon, Jelo and Terry Kelly. Aaron praises the old “Out of Hands Productions” (Craig, Chris and Pete) crew for making that happen! Ever since then, it has just been for the love… the love he has for house music and the passion he has for mixing tracks together. If you hear any of his mixes you’ll definitely see why.
In the past few years you would have seen him at venues like TOI, “Flight 55”, Paaeez, “The College Street Bar”, “The Underground”, “O Ultra Lounge”, “Martini House”, “Rude Native”, “Slushie Patio” and Blondies. He’s been featured on CFMU (Hamilton), CFRU (Guelph) and 1.groove. He’ll be ripping it up down in Chicago with Mike Dixon at the end of August and it’s probably only going to get better for Aaron.
Make sure to check www.FunkyHouseBeats.com for Aaron Bradley and his mixes/tracks. He’s finding new interest in production. Once there at www.funkyhousebeats.com and in talking to Aaron and the gang, you’ll find out that it’s a great community. There is an “I” in win, but there is a bigger U in funkyHousebeats. It’s all about U! Stop on by and see for yourself!
