In 1989, Adrian Halter a.k.a. A.J. Crypt, had already started to spin in different small discotheques and at parties. As a 14-year-old boy, he played pop and rock music for a young crowd. In 1990 he also started to organize parties regularly, among other things the 1st open air party on an ice field in Switzerland.

After a 4-year-break, in 1997 A.J. Crypt started to play as a Drum ‘n Bass – DJ, but later switched to House Music. From then on, he played not only in Switzerland, with his innovative house sets, but he also had his first gigs abroad, in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

In July 2000, A.J. Crypt made his last comeback. The response in the clubs was very big, so he became a well known House-DJ in Switzerland. He became resident at “Real-House Production” and also played other parties and events such as the famous Street Parade in Zurich.

At the end of 2000, A.J. Crypt started his first Brazilian tour for two months in Rio de Janeiro. Besides the best local clubs and parties, A.J. also had some gigs on FM-radios. On this tour, A.J. Crypt worked out his idea to start an electronic music parade in Rio de Janeiro. The project RioParade ( was born and A.J. became its president. On further Brazilian tours, he socialized with important persons of the Brazilian electronic music scene.

2001 was definitely the breakthrough year in A.J´s. career. He became a professional DJ and played in Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Brazil and Croatia. He was also successful as a party organizer. He founded the label “in da casa prod.” and arranged regular parties named “Adrenalina”, “Members of House”, “Latino House” and “Strip’n’House”. He also founded the Brazilian dance group “Adrenalina Dancers”.

From May to June 2002, A.J. Crypt was on the biggest DJ-tour in Brazil ever set for a foreign DJ. Not only did the Brazilian radios pay special attention to A.J., but MTV-Brazil produced a documentary about him.

The project RioParade, the first international Electronic Music Parade, brought a lot of opportunities to DJ A.J. Crypt. He produced the official RioParade anthem “Amor, Paz e Tolerância” and built up a huge network in the electronic music scene all over the world.

After several set backs and a postponing of the event from January to June, finally the RioParade happened on the 8th of June, 2003 in spite of all kinds of criticisms. It was A. J. Crypt´s determination that made RioParade exceed all expectations. On the “Avenida Rio Branco”, 200,000 ravers danced to the pumping beats of the Lovemobiles which represented some of the strongest brands of the electronic music scene (e.g. Ministry of Sound, Space – Ibiza, Tresor – Berlin, Rex – Paris, Movement – London, Earth Dance, Cheesebeat – Bejing, Planet Groove – New York, FFWD Parade – Rotterdam). The founder of the Loveparade and Godfather of all Techno-Parades, Dr. Motte himself, went to the RioParade and was overwhelmed. A.J. Crypt was the last DJ to play onstage in front of 50,000 people.

In the European summer of 2003, A.J. Crypt played at the “Loveparade” (together with DJ Tiesto on the Kremlin/Ameland float), at “Space” Ibiza, (together with Carl Cox at the “Closing Party”), as well as at “We love Sunday” at the “Tresor” in Berlin, at the “Canal Parade” in Amsterdam as well as at the “FFWD-Parade” in Rotterdam, where he played together with Ferry Costen on the mainstage. Besides this, he will be touring through Brazil, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, the USA and China. In December, A.J.Crypt played at the world`s biggest Indoor-Rave, the “Innercity” in Amsterdam, produced by “ID-T”.

In the beginning of 2004, A.J. Crypt continued his success and played during the Winter Music Conference at Space (with Johan Gielen) and Fairwinds Café (with Terry Francis) in Miami. He was also booked at the Space World Tour in Valparaiso (Chile), Bacchus and Moon Island (Taiwan) and Cloud 9 in Beijing (China). In Rio de Janeiro A.J. has played a lot at his Residency Club, Dama de Ferro, the most hype club in Rio.

A.J plays House and Tech-House and really feels what the crowd wants to hear. Together with DJs like Carl Cox, Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk, Sven Väth, John Digweed, Erick Morillo or Layo& Bushwacka and his groovy and innovative sets, he brings every club to a boiling point.
