Biography

6blocc got his start way back in the late 80’s mixing hip hop

and electro in his home town of Los Angeles and playing on the legendary

KDAY radio station. During this time, he was constantly in dj battles all over

Los Angeles and this gave him the skills he’s now known for throughout the world.

By 1992, he was dj’ing under the name R.A.W. (rules all warehouses) and every weekendhe was booked dropping jungle and hardcore which took L.A. by storm and since then he has gained thousands of fans around the world and has touched down in Japan, Australia, Canada, Russia, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Italy, Ukraine, Austria, Israel, Mexico, Venezuela and every major city in the USA. From 1997 to 2005 R.A.W. managed to drop over 100 vinyl releases on labels such as Warner Bros., N20, Mictlan, Sound Sphere, Thermal and Amen Factory.

In 2006, R.A.W. morphed into 6Blocc and the music went from 175 to 140 beats per minute but the bass stayed thick and heavy. Since then, 6Blocc has dropped over 14 vinyl releases and dozens of digital bangers on labels like Ultra, RCA, Hollow Point, Lo Dubs, Phantom Hertz, Moonshine, Terminal Dusk, Sub Depth and his own vinyl remix label called 6Dub.

When 6Blocc isn’t wrecking the turntables on stage he’s in the studio cranking out the baddest dubstep productions and remixes for artists like DJ Muggs, Bassnectar, Diplo, The Bassist, Matty G, Dub Fx, Don Goliath, Roommate and reggae artists Gappy Ranks, Lutan Fyah, Chuck Fender, Jigsy King, Jr Cat and Lexxus.

This year 6Blocc finished production on DJ Mugg’s album called Bass For Your Face. The first single / video off the LP is ‘Snap Ya Neck Back’ featuring UK grime mc Dizzee Rascal. 6Blocc has also teamed up with Diplo / Major Lazer and produced a monster hit for Snoop Lion called “Here Comes The King” which was featured in Reincarnated, the Snoop Lion documentary that was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival early in 2013. “Here Comes The King” music video has reached 1.5 million views on YouTube and the song will soon be featured in a European Adidas commercial. The song is available now on RCA Records.

Going back to his roots, 6Blocc has launched a future jungle label called Woofer Cooker

and the first release Undecided Mission EP hit the Top 5 Breaks list at Trackitdown.net and

the latest release ‘Put The Stereo On’ featuring UK’s Gappy Ranks hit the #1 spot.

Another #1 hit was his song ‘Afrika’ on UK breakbeat label Sub Slayers (nominated best UK label).

Recently he has also worked with Marcus Visionary on a remix for British reggae legends

Aswad and UK techno pioneers Renegade Soundwave – ‘Come With The Love’ also released on Sub Slayers.

Last year, 6Blocc released his first sample pack called Dubstep Ammo which sold extremely well around the world and even won an award from loopmasters.com and this year he’s back with West Coast Trap 1 & 2, Future Jungle and a Footwork / Juke sample pack which are all available on legendary NYC label Industrial Strength Records.

Recently 6Blocc has also re-launched his digi-label DIGITAL 6 worldwide through Symphonic Distribution and has been dropping sub heavy tunes by artists like Maze, Blankface, Rawtee,

Peligro, Werd 2 Jah and Taiwan MC (france). The latest release is the jungle anthem ‘Respect The King’ featuring Atlanta’s ragga mc Werd 2 Jah and previous release ‘Nintendo Riddim’ is still holding on at #33 in Beatport’s reggae charts. And dropping on August 26th is the highly anticipated Matty G ‘50000 Watts (6Blocc Remixes)’ which will blow your woofers to bits and pieces!
