There's nothing quite like that feeling of pulling out the summer side of your wardrobe and shopping around with butterflies in your tummy as you gear up for festival season- but speaking on behalf of everyone in NYC, we just ache to be back on the grounds of Randall's Island Park and frolicking about. And it's a no brainer that Randall's Island is ready to welcome back the deity of East Coast festivals come July, Panorama.
Crafted and curated by the brilliant minds over at Goldenvoice, Panorama has the credentials and confidence of a decade long festival while yet only having been around for a ripe 2 years.
With perfectly Instagram-able art installations, the finest food vendors that the booming streets of NYC and Brooklyn have to offer and some of the best sponsors around the globe, Panorama has secured itself over the last two years as one of the top dog music festivals in the country. And you know what they say, third times the charm- and nothing embodies that philosophy more to a T than their 2018 lineup.
The headliners speak for themselves- with The Weeknd, The Killers and the absolutely LEGENDARY Janet Jackson who are set to grace that Pano main stage. Sprinkle in some ODESZA, Talking Heads' very own David Byrne, the SOULECTION crew, MOODYMANN, Gucci Mane and more into the lineup- along with underground dance music's finest like MALL GRAB, THE BLACK MADONNA, AVALON EMERSON and BICEP, who will be the pinnacle of The Point. And whenever you want a break from all the disco grooves, you can have your soul touched by the soothing vocals of Sabrina Claudio, Jhené Aiko and Daniel Caesar. Oh, and that's just SOME of the lineup.
Although the "music" is the key ingredient of any successful "music festival", Panorama has managed to prove within a short amount of time that they pride themselves on bringing in the most state-of-the-art tech/art installations and VR with THE LAB. Powered by HP, THE LAB ensures that you'll be transported into a virtual world that could only be crafted by your wildest dreams.
Having attended last year and not thinking it could possibly get better than swings, neon subway carts, proper NYC eats, a BALL PIT WITH POOL FLOATIES (you heard that right, folks), a Sephora and Rough Trade pop-up shop and some more lil' surprises, I already know that Pano 2018 is gonna top 2017. Festival season's right around the corner, kids- so make sure you lock in your spot at one of the most anticipated ones of the summer HERE!
