As of recent I have found it more and more difficult to narrow down my #MusicMonday posts to just five sets or tracks to get you through the work week. So this week, we’re trying out something new – an entire playlist dedicated to making your week more tolerable, maybe even absolutely amazing. Before you press play, one thing you should know about me is that I have incredible levels of music A.D.D. so brace yourselves for a lot of bit of everything.
This week I am featuring some of my favorite emerging artists as well as some epic tracks from big names we all know and love. Three emerging artists I have been listening to on repeat lately all happened to release new music last week, and I just can’t get enough of it. So, let me give you a little rundown on some of the highlights.
WAX MOTIF dropped his EP, ‘True Joy,’ via Mad Decent and you better believe it will rapidly rise to the top of your playlist, may I also add that he absolutely murdered the Purple Stage at HARD Summer. JACKAL, another new favorite of mine, dropped his latest single ‘Animal Style’ (also off Mad Decent’s label) following a rather impressive run during this past festival season where highlights include sets at Coachella, EDC and Shambhala. Speaking of Shambhala, this week we also have a set courtesy of SHIBA SAN, fresh from the farm to your ears. I have a feeling that this set from SHIBA SAN will be one of the best ones coming out of Shambhala 2015. This week will also find end of summer sets (sadface) from GOLDROOM and GRYFFIN, both of which are prime vibes for the sweltering summer beach days. We also have the latest from DATSIK and BAIS HAUS aka EPHWURD who after teasing their new track 'Duckface,' for the last couple of weeks finally dropped the full version on Soundcloud. This track is HUGE and I expect to hear a lot of it this fall. The last set featured this week comes from another rising talent, JSTJR, who released a gym-worthy mix just ahead of his IHEARTCOMIX set with APE DRUMS, which took place last Thursday in Los Angeles.
The quality of music released lately has been too stellar not to share. Without further ado, the very first installment of Editor’s Selects.
Until next week kids!
