Earlier this week, curators of Movement Electronic Music Festival dropped a list of over 60 new artists scheduled to perform at the 10-year anniversary of this revered annual weekend. This year's fest will be taking place Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, inside Detroit’s beloved Hart Plaza.
A few highlights to check out:
The D's Interdimensional Transmissions collective will host a showcase to celebrate its 21-year anniversary with a headlining performance by Claude Young, plus an all-hardware, all-analog live set by Ectomorph.
Also announced on the phase two lineup is hip-hop icon of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan RZA, featuring his live band Stone Mecca; and several Detroit staples among others: Joseph Capriati, Tiga, Matthew Dear, DâM-FunK (DJ set), ZelooperZ, Kyle Hall and Kenny Dope.
Modeselektor will make their first appearance at the festival, performing a live set on the Main Stage. The dance music duo will also join Kraftwerk and Dubfire’s live spectacle, dubfire:live HYBRID, as headliners on the Main Stage, as well.
