The love is still there for the crew lead by MIKEY LION, PORKCHOP, LEE REYNOLDS, and MARBS as thousands of people gathered at Los Coyotes Indian Reservation in Warner Springs, California on April 27th to celebrate and enjoy the music and other festivities over the weekend. The festival emphasizes connection between people and gives them a colorful, positive and respectful playground to make new friends and reunite with old ones. Even with an amazing 72 hours of music, there's far more other things going on as there's tons of vendors where you can buy organic healthy food, buy the latest clothes and jewelry, and plenty of bars where you can replenish yourself. Surrounding the stage were areas where you could lay down and enjoy the music or there was an elevated stage reserved purely for fire spinners, and during the day there was yoga classes and healing workshops. The staff was very friendly and everyone shared the mantra of "One Stage, One Vibe".
The music was exceptional over the 72 hours of nonstop fun. The best set of the weekend was EGYPTIAN LOVER doing a live set while singing and showing off his amazing skills as a DJ. DAMIAN LAZARUS had a dreamy 4 hour sunrise set while DANCE SPIRIT had an amazing energy to their live set. Mikey Lion also had one of the best sets of the weekend as he played tracks I've never heard before to old school Maceo Plex tracks. ANDREAS HENNEBERG played a great techno set at 4am on Saturday, and WORTHY and OPTION4 played a great b2b set on Sunday.
Desert Hearts Festival has become a major event in people’s lives all over the SoCal scene. The music, art, and vendors all take a backseat to the true meaning of Desert Hearts. That meaning is how love to again, meet new friends, and bond over great music.
