The Spring edition of San Diego's CRSSD Fest wrapped this past weekend and true-to-form, it kicked off festival season on a high note. From the lineup to the venue itself, CRSSD Fest consistently proves to be a marquee event each year. Despite Sunday's mild showers, the weekend was a glorious 48 hours of house and techno, punctuated with a few incredible live acts in between pulsating sets and overflowing with excellent vibes.
With so much good stuff, it's hard to narrow down our top moments from the weekend but here are the five best sets we encountered at CRSSD:
- Eats Everything b2b SETH TROXLER - Hands down the best two hours of the weekend. Their chemistry on stage is undeniable, resulting in a high energy, dynamic, two hour Sunday night dance party at The City Steps.
2. H.V.O.B - While the timing of their set was debatable (personally, I think they should have been placed later in the day), the magic this group exudes on stage is second to none. Saturday afternoon kicked off early with an ethereal soundtrack provided by H.V.O.B.
*bonus* Check out my favorite HVOB mix:
3. Elderbrook - Sunday's music was easily the better of the two days, with a few gems taking the stage earlier in the day. Elderbrook was one act that should not have been missed. A one man supergroup, Elderbrook did it all onstage: singing, mixing, and dropping some solid beats for Sunday Funday.
4. DUSKY Live - It was hard to split time between stages as Dusky performed at the same time as HEIDI and Midland, but I am so happy I managed to catch this duo's sunset performance. Walking up just in time for them to drop a filthy remix of UK's grime artist Wiley and having only seen them DJ prior, I was completely blown away by Dusky's live show. Mad props for this set.
