Pulling inspiration from across pop culture as well as through a variety of artistic mediums from music to street art, Chicago music triumvirate AUTOGRAF's rise to fame has been almost meteoric over the past two years. In the beginning, they astounded with haunting reworks of classic records like Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition' and Marvin Gaye's 'Heard it Through The Grapevine'. Lately, they've honed down on their original sound in the studio between living the festival life at events like Northern Nights, Hangout Fest and rousing set at the Do LaB's inaugural Woogie Weekend, with tracks like 'Running' and 'Dream' and 'Metaphysical' make their way across airwaves and into mixtapes around the globe. And now, ahead of their North American Tour the trio have returned with another hit - this time taking on 'Ain't To Proud to Beg' by THE TEMPTATIONS; and we're not to proud to beg - for more!
Returning to their emotive roots, Autograf provides a haunting rework to a tried and true classic - deconstructing the original melody and stripping the vocals raw. The result is an eerie ode to a prolific group and a timeless mix that's set to thrill.
Catch Autograf on their Metaphysical Tour, starting this Friday, January 15th, at New York City's famed Webster Hall after they grace the decks at the East Coast's esteemed MixMag Lab.
