It is always exciting to see a festival return after six years. Audiotistic was always held as the music grounds for some of the best hip-hop, drum & bass and electronic. Some may even recall when icons such as Outkast and Kid Cudi headlined back in the day.
This past weekend, Insomniac, revitalized all of that at the Shoreline Amphitheater with two stages dubbed Frequency 1.1 and 2.2 which we thought was pretty cool. Some of our favorite acts were MARSHMELLO, LIL UZI VERT, PLAYBOI CARTI and KEYS N KRATES. It was very rewarding to see such a variety of genres performing at the same venue, which was almost felt sort of a mini festival vibe. The production itself was outstanding, particularly Frequency 1.1 was much larger than I expected it to see as the stage stretched really far from each side. The audiovisuals that complemented the pyro definitely provided a fully immersive experience for us.
Some of the incredible production made us a little nostalgic for the flagship festival, EDC Las Vegas, after seeing some Pac Man carts and the Boombox Art Car. What is unique about Insomniac events is that a lot of attendees enjoy bringing their own totem and we saw some very creative and funny designs ranging from Sponge Bob to the latest Internet memes.
We cannot wait until Audiotistic returns again for its own event again!
