This Bank Holiday Sunday, we prepare for a special opening as Jamie Jones lands in Farringdon to take over the programming of the building. One of house music’s most iconic selectors, Jones first broke through by pushing a melodic side to house on his label Hot Creations, and in the years since this sound has consistently been at the heart of his DJ sets. He’s joined in Room One by our own cherished resident, Craig Richards. As close friends and regulars in our Room One space, Jones and Richards also share a longstanding partnership behind the decks, with their previous EC1 appearances often seeing them heading into spontaneous back-to-back sessions. Jones also invites one of his close collaborators in the studio and live performance sphere as Kate Simko rounds off the Room One bill.
Over in Room Two the minimal techno don and owner of the Rukus label Matador will be performing live. He first broke through as part of Richie Hawtin’s iconic M_nus, where he became one of the crew’s most recognisable acts for his hypnotic live show. Ryan Elliott will also be DJing, working the defiant, quick-mix style that’s come to define the sound of sound of his residency at Berghain and Panorama Bar. In 2014 Elliott’s profile was heightened with the release of his delectable ‘Panorama Bar 06’ mix, while more recently his ‘fabric 88’ mix for us further proved him as one of techno’s most adept forces. Finally, rounding off the bill is one of New York’s key house DJs, Jesse Calosso.
