Line-up: The Royal, START/OVER, 2 Years to apocalypse, Raven Called sin.
A band that takes the best of a wide variety of subgenres in metal and presents a fresh and unique cross-over into today’s scene, released their very first label record “Seven” on Long Branch Records in march 2017. After forming the band late in 2012 these 5 ambitious young men began writing and recording songs DIY and displayed incredible promise through songs that showcase poignant and powerful writing. They self-released their EP, “Origins”, in 2012 and their single, “Blind Eye”, in 2013, followed by their first full-length “Dreamcatchers” in 2014, also self-released. In the course of this release they played support shows for acts like Architects and Breakdown Of Sanity and gained attention at festivals like Jera On Air and Impericon Festival. This band fuses metal, groove and melody and delivers it in an advanced manner. This combined with their flowing and thoughtful lyrics and their stellar live performance, shows that The Royal is a force to be reckoned with.
START/OVER is a progressive metalcore band from Amsterdam. Risen out of the ashes of previous bands, the band sets out to create an unique soundscape that combines hard hitting riffs and mesmerizing melodies. With influences from melodic hardcore, djent and prog, the band has created their own sound that won’t leave you unsatisfied.
In 2017 the band released their debut EP “Laments” which is available on all popular services.
HEAVY/SOUNDS was created by START/OVER in an effort to boost the Dutch heavy scene.
FFO: Architects, Northlane, Parkway Drive.
2 Years to Apocalypse:
2 Years to Apocalypse is a five-piece melodic metalcore band from Amsterdam, founded in 2010. Their sound is pretty heavy and has a perfect balance between breakdowns and melodies, comparable to bands such as Architects, In Hearts Wake and Northlane. Aside from drums, guitar and bass, the stage is shared by two vocalists who take turns in grunts and cleans. This creates a very unique sound and an energetic live performance. After the release of EP’s “Dawn” and “Dissonance”, including sold out shows supporting Memphis May Fire, The Amity Affliction and Our Last Night, the band took things to a new level. They’ve worked very hard trying to write about subjects that really matter to them on a personal level. Their album “The Midas Touch” which have been released recently, prove their direction towards a more mature sound.
Raven Called Sin:
“And God made Eve from the rib of Adam. And Eve was weak and loosed the Raven on the world. And the Raven was called Sin.” (Carrie-1976). Raven Called Sin expresses the sins of humanity in the current society of this world. The lyrics of front man Dylan Lammens reflect the painful truth like a mirror on our society. Not only the lyrics, but also the music will grab the listener by the throat. They create a wall of sound with their professional production; staccato grooves and progressive drum beats. On top of that they unleash sizzling guitar melodies, growling bass riffs and antagonized vocals.
