ZAK B Biography
Not only known as being one of the youngest producers to flourish the dance music scene in the late 80s, Zak Baney produced the frist Acid Breakbeat track in 1987; earning him a place in dance music history and being known as the pioneer of Acid Breaks.
Zak Baney has been producing dance music and deejaying since the age of 15. Gaining a huge underground following and being one step ahead of every deejay, Zak B always kept up with the most current style of music. If the music wasn’t up to his standard, he would introduce more desirable music to the scene by simply producing his originally tracks.
Also known for putting out a great number of white labels without his name on it – it was a part of his intention which implicates his passion for the music, not to gain any commercialized fame.
After taking some time off, he signed on to Frankie Bones’ label, Nu Futura, and acquired a reputation and many rave reviews from all over the world. He continuously produced tracks for other labels like ffrr and Chicago’s record label Rhythm Style.
Moving forward, Zak B started Mastermindz production along with Chicago’s deejay Non Stop Camacho, Kenny Kicking Perez, and Florida’s own DJ LOC and King JB. They produced music and put out mix CDs throughout the whole country.
Currently Zak B has relocated to Japan and started two new labels – dubtone records and locked groove records – as well as holding a residency at Kobe’s biggest club Sallys. He also has been credited as being the first deejay to introduce Florida’s style of funky and electro Breakbeat to Japan. Zak B is bringing a new style of music to the other part of the world. | read more
