SHALA Biography
Shala was born in Brno, Czech Republic. Right from the jump when he began to go into the clubs in 1999, he was impressed by dance music. Melodic rythm of house music and interlocking tracks were the reason for his passion for Djing. He wanted to mix the music immediately after that, but the start of his carrier wasn’t easy – he had no experience, no equipment to build his set, he had only a few songs from the radio and a computer. Because of this fact, he started as a remixer. He re-edit some tracks – e.g. Lady and Chillin by Modjo.
The breakpoint for Shala’s carrier was 2003, when he had earned some money during the summer holiday and so he could buy his first turntables and dj mixer. Instead of it, he gained a few vinyls from London. Although nobody helped him and he was left to himself, Shala was ready for becoming a real DJ .
He started to perform his own tracks at the student parties of his school, he was attended. In 2005 he became one of the residents of the Perpetuum club in Brno with club 7. Nebe to follow. From 2006 he belongs to Clubzone Booking Agency that is directed by Andrea Fiorino and others. From 2007 Shala becomes one of the residents of the dance show Dance Power Live, broadcasted by digital Radio Valc 3. From July 2007 he started to organize minimal clubnight Nu Pagadi together with DJ Louis EliO.
Shala has recorded 5 promo CDs. The first was edited in 2005 and named Aloha Ibiza. Following two CDs were edited in 2006 (A Simple Journey in January and Estar Vivo in May). In February 2007 Shala got out his fourth CD named High Voltage, focused only on electro music. Thanks to this demo he won the competition at Apokalypsa party in February 2007, organizated by dance info server Rave.cz. Till now latest promo CD Shala recorded in august 2007 with minimal sound, named Minimal Voltage. In April 2007 DJ Shala took out the fourth place in the category Newcomer the Year in the O2 Dance Music Awards 2006. | read more
