ROCKSTEADY Biography
Language: EnglishDuring his formative years (2002-2003) Rocksteady was heavily influenced by such local DJ’s as James Fusion, Dirty Ol Frank, and Si-Dog. He played a sound dominated by UK Hardhouse and Nu-NRG, highlighting such producers as BK, Paul Glazby, Casper, and Paul Maddox. The energy and aggressiveness attracted him to this rave type sound. He found a small following in the NE rave scene that was amped for this type of sound, which was rarely found at larger parties in the area.
In 2004, Rocksteady started moving in a different direction musically. After a string of more club oriented gigs as opposed to afterhours rave gigs, he became attracted a less BPM intensive sound. Producers like Marco V, Don Diablo, and Marcel Woods became mainstays in his record box. He now plays an eclectic mixture of genres, with select tunes in the following genres; Tech Trance, Electro, Funky Techno, and Tech House. Never one to be pigeonholed into a sound, he will play anything that he feels fits his style, still retaining the dark, aggressive edge from his younger days.
When booking Rocksteady you can expect, depending on the timeslot/venue, a blend of dirty electro tech-house, or a banging techno/tech-trance set.
