ROCKIT Biography
Language: EnglishDj Rockit (A.K.A. Rudy German) discovered the sounds of techno in 1990 when first hearing the song “The Spice Must Flow” by Eon. This led to Rudy’s passionate journey into the underground rave scene, club culture and music. Groups such as Eon, Sun scream, GTO, Joey Beltram and Alpha Team had him hooked on the electronic sounds of the future. It wasn?t till 94? when Dj Rockit had his first true encounter with a rave type of environment. This occurred in three different club nights called “Ooga Booga”, “Pure” and “FREEDOM” all located in Sacramento, CA.. He also attended his first rave type party called “GENERATION” in the SF Bay area.
With his love for underground dance music, Dj Rockit formed a houser / stepper dance crew with his best friend Tony back in ‘94. Together they traveled to parties all over Northern California to display their dance moves and skills. While traveling, Dj Rockit fell in love with the idea of dj’ing and the concept of making people dance along with him, getting them hyped and in to the music too. He dreamed of the day when he would be spinning records, while the dj’s he admired and watched on a weekly basis would be on the dance floor, dancing to his every rhythm.
On January 1st 1995, Dj Rockit took up the art of dj’ing. Stepping behind the decks, he set out with one mission – to make people feel the groove. Dj Rockit from there on developed his own unique style of Progressive House, Breaks and Trance. Since then he has played at parties ranging from small intimate one’s to some of the biggest Massive’s in Northern California, Idaho and Utah. “THE PHUNKY PEOPLE PROJECT” is his production company which has been throwing small low cost events over the past few years. The goal of these parties are to create a more intimate atmosphere, to give the chance for up and coming dj?s to be heard in the local scene and to give back that old skool vibe.
