ROBERT HEYAIME Biography
Born under the sign of Scorpio, in the Dominican Republic on October 26 1978, he was never a stranger to rhythm and beats, he began going to local parties which gathered a small group of people with the same interest and from it took knowledge as to what everyone enjoyed best. Based on his own experience and that of everyone around he started looking at music as a way to reach people, and not only for them but with them making it a experience in which connection through sounds is the best way of communication. He is part of the Phantom-Deck Collective , which is based in Dominican Republic, and Massivegroove, based in New York City.
When you listen to his music you can find a subtle mix of simple beats that intertwine creating a complex array of sounds that can easily make you want to stand up and dance, or just chill and enjoy the journey in which he takes you. Throughout this, it is impossible not to notice the meticulous and impeccable selection of themes, the carefully managed progression of his sets aswell as his skills. Some of his fellow DJ’s have come to refer to his sounds as ‘El Heyaime Style’, mainly because his exploration of darker but still rhythmic beats make his creations very characteristic to him.
