RICARDO CASTILLO Biography
Language: EnglishFrom Being a Full time academic Panist, in middle 2005, Ricardo Castillo’s life made a complete turn around. Making electronic music a part of his daily living. 2006 opened new doors to Castillo, after practicing, playing at underground gigs, and a few clubs around San Salvador, had the opportunity to warm up the gig for Canadian dj/producer/remixer Gabriel Batz. So far, Castillo has already played in El Salvador at several places and Guatemala at venues such as Famous The Box, C-Lounge, Tantra and club La Casbah up to this day and has shared decks with important Central American djs (such as Santiago Niño, Gabriel Batz, 3kttordeejay A.K.A 3DAX, Alex Hentze, Rod V, Revnoise and Ettore Lentini to name a few). now involved more on the likes of producing his own music and playing his tracks on his sets with ableton live software and midi controllers, Ricardo has been trying to learn and get better on the music production side. Now Signed with Minimatracx Recordigns from the UK, LEICHTKlang Recordings from Spain, and Itzamna Recordings from his native El Salvador, Castillo has been given the friendly hand and needed exposure to get out there and help put his beloved San Salvador on the map of Electronic Dance Music. Castillos Techno/Minimal shows a very percusive side, with crazy synths and strong catchy basslines(sometimes with crazy vocals).
