NEPHILIM Biography

Language: English

Christian Zechner (formerly known as Nephilim) is born and raised in Oslo, Norway.

Music has been his main interest most of his life. When he got a keyboard for his 10th birthday, he started composing his first melodies. The producing took off a few years later when he bought his first computer and discovered the world of tracking and other musical possibilities a computer can offer.

In June 2002, before his 18th birthday, he was invited to play a live act in front of a few hundred people in Quebec City (Canada) as a headliner DJ on the event “Basement III”. Things have only went upwards from here.

In September 2003 his very first release saw the light of day as he was featured as a remixer on “The Beach”, originally made by Norway’s most-selling trance artist ever, “Pacific Blue”.

Hotdecks Recordings discovered Christian’s talent the summer of 2003 and offered him his first record deal, signing “Mirror World” and “Synchronized” for an EP under the guise “Nephilim”, which gained the support of DJ Tiesto (Tiesto In Concert 2), Armin van Buuren (A State Of Trance radio show), Misja Helsloot, Matt Hardwick, Guy Ornadel and many more. It also made it to 3rd place on the “Tunes Of The Month” list in MixMag, July ’04 edition.
