DJ Lone Wolf aka TJ From Edinburgh has been collecting mixtapes and following the Hip-Hop Culture from the ripe old age of 7 years old when RUN DMC brought out RAISING HELL in the late 80’s. It wasn’t until 7 years later he after collecting an arsenal of mixtapes, room full of posters and records that he would finally be drawn to the DJ side of things.
At 17, DJ LW left school to pursue his love of music and joined a Disco Company called Madhatman Discos. 3 weeks later he was doing his school discos. After working for various disco company’s which included Sweet Inspiration, Chaplins and Aladdin Discotechues he finally got a break at the kinda of night he wanted to do. He got a Saturday night slot at Edinburgh’s Legendary M8 Night Club in the West End playing House and Garage music. This led him away from the disco company’s and more into the sort of djing he wanted. At still only 17 he landed a residency in Scotlands {over 21} Premier Bar at the time’ EH1’ playing Hip-Hop and House Music alongside Some of the UK’s top DJ’s like Yogi Haughton, Murray Richardson and Dolphin Boy.
DJ LW then went on to land even more residencies around the Capital in top venues which included Catwalk Cafe, City Cafe 2, The Venue and Wilkie House,
At still only 17, DJ LW began to promote his own Club Nights like Bitch, Electriscity and Work with a selection of dj’s Mixing up all kind of music from Soul, Hip-Hop & Funk to House & Garage. He always believed in a freestyle music policy.
At 18, DJ LW worked in Edinburgh’s Leading Underground Record Shop ’ Underground Solushn Records.Cockburn St, Edinburgh.
Things were going from good to better landing himself residency and guest slots all over town in the late 90’s swell as promoting his own Club nights..
At still only 20 DJ LW was picked to dj at Esteem a Friday night House Club at the legendary Vaults Club in Edinburgh playing along side top Scot’s DJ’s Sean Pearson/Kev Jones of Forth FM and the incredible Mr Neil Ferguson. This lead him onto guesting at some of the best clubs in the capital like Fire Island at Wilkie House, Wiggle Waggle at La belle Angelle, Silky at the Venue. Snatch at the Liquid Rooms/In early 2000 he had residency’s all over town playing at Tropisam at the Venue, About Time at Wilkie House and Ego at the Shooting Gallery, as well as being Editor of his own Club magazine’ Vision’.
At 22 years old As well as dj in Scotland, DJ LW guested in some top clubs throughout the UK and across Europe including France, Greece , Turkey.
In 2003 before leaving the UK, DJ LW last residency was at Soundbank, Scotlands biggest Tech House music and Electro night run monthly at Edinburgh’s Art University, Where he was djing alongside some of Scotlands and UK’d top DJ’s/Producers including DJ Reverb, Funk D’ Void of Soma Records, Pussy Power. Chris Haley from the Unit, DJ Jace and Nick Craig from Monox.
In 2004 DJ LW was picked out of thousand of DJ’s by Worldwide DJ Network to launch the opening night at a Night Club in Zhangmutou, South China called Oasis. After getting a taste for Asia he then decided to move permanently out there and work for Club Oasis helping out the dj’s and managing the Music of the Club. He stayed there for most of the summer but then moved through to Hong Kong after seeing it’s incredible night .
DJ LW now travels to and from Hong Kong whilst coming back to the UK regularly working in the studio concentrating on and learning the production side of music whilst continuing promoting his unique live performances on the decks throughout UK/Amsterdam/ and Paris and his world famous Inner City Funk Mixtapes.
DJ Lone Wolf Currently has residencies in Hong kong including Buddha Lounge,Antique Bar,Portal and has guested at major clubs around the island including Club magazine,Club Pie,Solas and Cliq.aswell as touring to Shanghai and guesting at Underlonge and klash Dance.
