LIAPEZZ Biography
Konstantinos Liapis (aka) DJ Liapez was born in the Greek city of Egion in 1979, like most of the kids he grown up with he started to listen to various stlyes of music from rock, new-wave and hip-hop and in 1995 he stumbled across Life FM which was one of the best greek radio stations around at that time and he instantly got hooked on the underground house techno and trance music the radio station played from time to time so in 1997 he started work as a radio producer at his local station, Radio Egio FM, on the House Elements radio show for 2 years where he met Nikos Diamantopoulos who taught him the basics of dj-ing and mixing. Now he was confident enough to start asking for sets in his local bars and clubs from which he started to get regular bookings which included Saloon Bar, Buzz Bar, Luki, Face, Beau Rivage, Yacht Club, Anonimo Bar and in the summer of 2000 Liapez played the warm up set for Alex Neri (Planet Funk). In the summer of 2003 Liapez moved from his home city to the greek island of Ios where he became the resident dj at a bar called Barmacy and also had regular sets at venues such as Karma Beach Club, Far out and La Luna but in 2004 his dj-ing had to take a back seat because he was offered the bar managers job at Barmacy, this also was very benificial for Liapez because from his manager roll at Barmacy he had the job of booking djs for special events at Barmacy which gave him the chance to work with dj’s like Neil P (uk), Ryan (uk) Kosta Spiral (greece) Timewarp (greece) DJ Moss(greece), Soul Tania(greece), Blend(greece), Jimmy Turbs(uk),Ramiro Ramero(arg), Mariano Santos(arg), Antraxx(serbia) and many many more! For the past 2 years Liapez has continued to dj at Barmacy (putting the bar mangers job at the back of his mind) playing a wide range of dance music from house, electro to progressive but his main love is for minimal.
