LEO VANDERWEIJDEN Biography
Many insiders consider Leo Vanderweijden to be one of the Netherlands Dance scene most talented rising stars. Leo literally grew up with music. Being blessed with an absolute hearing he started playing the drums at the age of 13 and he bought his first turntables at 14. Night after night he polished his skills. At the age of 17 he became a local break out in Zandvoorts Club Yanks resulting in a number of guest gigs in lots of prestigious Dutch Beach Clubs. During the summer of both 2004 and 2005 Leo became a resident at Beach Club Republiek Bloemendaal, the number one house beach club in the country. But most people know Leo Vanderweijden foremost from Amsterdams number one club, the legendary Escape Venue at the Rembrandt square where he frequently plays on the famous Framebuster Nights. Leos sets are famous for its immaculate technical skills paired with a very funky soulful groovy sound. The exact way he has excited many people at parties like Molotov in Hotel Arena, Funkd in Panama and Fierce Angel in The Powerzone. Leo Vanderweijden has already performed outside the Netherlands; Club Love on Ibiza, the Caribbeans Dutch Antilles, both on Curacao as well as Bonaire, Tokyo Project Party at Neighbourhood London and the Pacha New Years Eve Event 2005 in Cape Town. | read more
