KATRZY Biography
Language: EnglishDJ Katrzy (also known as k3) started his turntable adventure in 2000. Since then he has performed in several clubs across Poland. His first parties were organized in no longer existing club “ZEZ” at his home town of Poznan. Pretty soon he started playing at other Poznan clubs – MO, Balinga, Eskulap, Kukabara, 69, Cute & Post Dali where he has been a resident dj for more then 3 years.
At Post Dali he was organizing a periodic event called “freshly ducked rhythms” every Tuesday from March 2002 till September 2003, during which he improved his mixing techniques and ability to choose right music for respective audiences. At Poznan’s biggest club “eskulap” he was playing next to the international house-scene star Jazzy-M.
In 2004, together with one of the most renowned Warsaw djs Guiddo, he founded a dj-collective “who needs sleep tonight?” – Later the collective was joined by Belgian dj and producer Eric de Page. Since the collective was set up, they have had a number of opportunities to present their potential at various clubs across Poland – Piekarnia (w-wa), Pientro (lodz), Luzztro (w-wa), zoom (krakow) and many more, performing next to many international and home scene stars. Katrzy participated in MillerFresh and HeinekenMusic events organized in Lodz and Poznan. He also played at Warsaw’s clubs Le Madame, Pruderia, Lemon, Jezioro Labedzie & New Deep. Last weekend (30 07 2005) he made his first appearance in Brussels @ “mr. ego cool attitude shop” playing there and getting a very good response from shop manager, employees and clients as well. Thanks to this he will play in Brussels clubs in the near future (first to come is Le Tavernier)
His music style is influenced primarily by electro, electro-pop, deephouse and some breakz. Katrzy likes long sets during which he can implement several music styles, ranging from chill-out house to electro. He endows his sets with an extra-quality by mixing tracks with some old-classical vocals and developing his scratching technique.
