GRIP Biography
At age 6, G.R.I.P. had a fascination with the turntable that his parents owned but was always quick to get a slap on the hand every time he tried to scratch a record like “RUN DMC did on the TV.” Eleven years later at age 17, G.R.I.P. was shopping at the local Goodwill. He bought two “heavily” used turntables and a beat up Radio Shack mixer but this time his hands were not getting slapped! In 1998, under the alias “ATAX”, he started playing rave and house parties with his friends and classmates. Within a few years he had already played some of the hottest clubs in Minneapolis, was booked out-of-state and had opened for a handful of domestic and internationally recognized DJ’s/Producers. | read more
