GORANZ Biography
Goran Zdravevski (real name) was born on the 31st of January 1984 in Bitola, Republic of Macedonia. At the moment he is a student at the Faculty for Technical Sciences-Information Technology (IT),in his native town.
His first contacts with the trance genre were established in the second half of the year 1998. In this period electronic music was not very popular in that region especially euphoric trance music, which is his favourite type of music. Macedonian Radio 2-Radio Hertz was the only radio that was playing uplifting melodic trance and only one day per week (Thursday 18.00-22.00h). The author and host of the show Oliver was spinning records of the likes such as Blank&Jones-The Nightfly, Armin van Buuren-Communication, Paul van Dyk-For an Angel,ATB-9pm (till l come) ,System F- Out of the Blue and many, many, more, which are Goran’s favourites to date. Unfortunately, the show stopped running after two years, but then came the Club Rotation show on Viva TV which was the only source that was providing good trance music in town of Bitola. The internet, also played great role on Goran’s efforts to find the newest and hottest euphoric trance tunes. His first and still to date most loved cd-compilation was Kontor vol.6,which he bought in the beginning of the year 2000 just few weeks after its release. This can be noted as a great success, because in that time the cd-shops in the region were not selling this kind of compilations. On the other hand, his own first compilation was recorded in the summer of 2000, which featured tracks from Blank&Jones, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk and ATB. Two months later, he was introduced to the sound of Tiesto, through Tiesto Magik 6 mix set.Tiesto will soon became Goran and his closest fellow collaborator Zlatko’s idol. This is due to the fact that Tiesto spins the hottest euphoric trance and progressive tunes. Also, Goran keeps in touch with one of the biggest Djs in Macedonia and co-owner of Skopje’s great City Radio-DJ Babura. Goran started Djing in 2001,when he mixed his first set and from then on he mixed another 6 sets. Besides being involved in the trance music, he started listening to house music in 2002 and in two of his sets can be heard commercial and more progressive tunes. In 2004 he started recording compilations titled-Club Music. Most of them (in number over 20) were compiled starting with commercial house, followed by some progressive tunes and, of course, ended by great euphoric trance music. Great number of these cds are recorded in 2005,in his own studio.
