FRANCISCO VELAZQUEZ

Born in Andalucía (Málaga), Francisco Velazquez has loved music since he was very young. Always looking for different sounds. He’s taken a bit from various styles of music like Pop, Rock, Funky Soul, Jazz, Trip Hop…

Many artists have influenced him like Michael Jackson, Jean Michele Jarre, Tricky, Portishead, Massive attack, Front 242, Kraftwerk..

With the time, his passion for music, curiosity for electronics and technology make him start to produce electronic and dance music. That’s when he starts to hear styles like dance music or the initials of house and techno.

Bit by bit the idea of being a dj grows and in 1996 is when his career starts. In Sala N-340 in Estepona (Málaga), known place where big electronic music parties take place in Costa del Sol (Andalucía). There is where he starts to get in contact since very early with Djs of high national level like Oscar Mulero, Master Bom Z, Dj Pellejo, Felipe Volumen or Jordi Slate between others..

After some years playing in Andalucía his eager to learn makes him want to try out of his country and goes to live in England in 2000 where he plays in places like Ha-ha Club and Audio de Luxe (London) where he was resident in both.

When he comes back to Spain, he goes to Granada, where he lives for four years, playing in the most known clubs of the city like Yoshiwara club, Gustav Klimt and Opera 4. This last one is the most important and representative of house music in Andalucia. Artists like Kevin Yosh, Alex Kidd among many others have played there.

After these years of non stop learning he heads to Ibiza, where he has lived up to date.

It is in the island of Ibiza where his career becomes stronger and, after joining the most popular electronic music radio station of the Balearic islands, Ibiza Sonica, and playing in the best clubs of the island, like Ittaka, Wine Bar, Base Bar (resident), Grial, Lolas, Ushuaïa, S’Estanyol, Guaraná, etc… he then starts appearing in big clubs like SPACE IBIZA (playing in big nights like LA COMUNIDAD, sharing line up with Carl Cox or John Digweed among others), EDEN (parties like MONDOLOCO), EL DIVINO and PRIVILEGE (Privilege birthday party 2008 and LIVING as a promoter and musical director).

This progression helps him to start deejaying in places like SWITZERLAND, playing in big festivals like SANTA FESTIVAL 2008 as headliner with Matteo Agent among others or Carnabaiearao (Riberao Preto) and also becoming promoter and dj of the PRIVILEGE WORLD TOUR in Brasil 2008-2009.

Nowdays he combines his job in Spain, where he regulary colaborates with Ibiza Sonica radio and works as promoter and resident dj of several events, with his special sets in southamerica, where he is represented by HYPNO ARTIST AGENCY, one of the dj agencies most respected in the continent, as resident dj in the well known NIKKI BEACH parties.

Defined as eclectic dj, he fits in any kind of dancefloor. His favourite music styles go from New disco to fine Deep house and elegant Tech house.
