Language: EnglishEduardo is one of the most influential Djs in Uruguay, celebrating in 2006, 15 years of profesional career.
The Club is the natural environment for every Dj; so since 1991, year of his first residency; Esquivel has been called for gigs in the most important clubs in his country Uruguay; Key, Montevideo News, Milenio Dance, L.O.V.E., WLounge, are some of those clubs.
In 2004 and 2005, he has produced his own radio show, HOUSE NATION which broadcasted live to his city Montevideo as well as Punta del Este.
For many years he has spent his Uruguayan summers (January-February) between gigs in Punta del Este (Uruguayan world famous summer hot spot) and Montevideo Sunset, a series of Electronic Music Events in Uruguayan beaches where he has been the resident for five years.
His expanded musical vision and his ability to adapt his performances for different kinds of public makes Eduardo present in a wide variety of events; from raves to international festivals and conferences, some recent examples are the “Fiesta Final” party (20.000 people), the “Convergencia Mercosur” congress, The “CHICKS ON SPEED” Show in Uruguay, and some outdoor events such as The National Extreme Sports Championship, or the cultural walks of “Ciudad Vieja”.
His international career started in 2001 when an Argentinean clothes brand published his mixset CD “Metodo 1” as a gift for their customers.
At the end of 2002, his Dj talents received the deserved recognition being chosen by the Ministry of Sound (one of the most important Electronic Music Brands in the Whole World based in England) between 5000 Djs, as one of the 4 finalists of the Nescafe Ministry of Sound Global Tour, taking him to live a week-long fiesta including the DJ competition and the Nescafe Ministry of Sound Global Tour’s final event in Mexico’s glorious 1970’s playboy/girl paradise, Acapulco.
His Last Djmix “The War of the Worlds” containing voice sampling from the original 1938’s radio broadcast by Orson Welles, has been well received by promoters and clubers in many coutries, and is available to download through the archive.org web site.
The War of the Worlds Dj Tour programmed for mid/end of 2006 will include presentations in Argentina, Brasil and many Canadian cities, for the first time.
Without losing his personal style Eduardo Esquivel knows the rol of the Dj in the entertainment industry so he prefers not to be tide with just one style but adapt his performance to the kind of event, and the moment of the night playing from Tech-House to NuAcid with a little twist of Funky Techno, without losing the dancefloor vibe and the interactivity with the people.
