Biography
Language: EnglishDa funky system is the fruit of the encounter of 2 Dj’S, Paul C and Raphael Nemrod, and 1 musician, Vassily k. Their frienship brought them to join at the beginning of 2005 to launch out in the musical production, nurtured with various influences of funk, rock’n’roll or hip hop mingled with a strong culture of clubbing music.
Paul C has been a Dj for nearly 10 years. He grew up with music ( his mother was Dj’ herself playing at famous restaurant Maxim’ S in Chicago (USA) during the 60’ S and his uncle was one of the pioneers of the independant radio broadcasting world in France).
Paul got his first gig as a resident DJ in a club, Pulp, in Montpellier in 1997. His music started to improve and finally brought him behind the turntables of the most famous south of france dance club, LA DUNE. He played there for 4 years but from this moment, he got some gigs at bigger parties (Paris, Lyon, Marseilles, Toulouse) and with his effective house and funky music, he had the opportunity to share the front stage with some big names of the electronic scene such as Little Louie Vega, Laurent Garnier, Roy Davis Jr, A. Clamaran, D.Guetta….. He is still presently a monthly resident in montpellier, for the Natural Rythms parties.
Raphael, the other DJ, also from Montpellier, has been mixing for now nearly 5 years a house music very groovy, big beat, influenced by the Hip Hop. his road crossed Paul’s when he stopped a 4-year residency at a musical bar in Montpeliier to become in 2003 a resident in LA DUNE . And that’s where, in contact with great names of the House music, his style got even better and his set more refined (…) In 2004 he took the decison to leave the country with Stephan Navarro, resident of the Space Ibiza world tour, for the polynesyan Islands in order to exported his music, playing it on some of the most beautiful beaches. He ended his trip after 18 months and chosed to come back home and lauch out the electro music production with Paul.
Finally, the third menber, Vass, has the double characteric of being the musician of the group, but also the one who masters the electronic technology, allowing a good symbiosis between the traditional instruments and the the modern machines. His participation in the developpment of the production is absolutly capital.
All togeher (first with Paul and Vass, then with Raphael) since the begining of 2005, they have been devoting part of their time to the music production with the release in March of their fisrt vinyl FANTASTIC LA, and are currently working on some new tracks, soon to be released…
