Language: EnglishBorn in June the 13th, 1980, Clarel L; has been mixing for 3 years now. He was among the 10 finalists of the DJ Academy – a prestigious DJ competition held regularly on the island of Mauritius to discover new talents in the art of DJing.
His favorite ‘arsenal’- to put the house on fire range from break beats, progressive house, progressive trance and the likes. Clarel L turns out to be a real roller-coaster, mixing in various clubs across the island. From the El Diablo night club, located on the famous coast of Grand Baie, to Arena Private Club – on the west coast, Fresh night club, Future night club, Saxo etc.
He also mixed at the mythical colonial vestige fortress, ‘La Citadelle’ which is, no doubt the temple of music in the Indian Ocean. And as Mauritius is, for many people, all about the 4 big S, i.e. Sun, Sand, Sea and Se_ (guess !!!), it’s no surprise that beach parties are among the things that ‘you can’t get without’. And talking about beach parties, our man, clarel L was recently revolving the vinyls at Saxo’s beach – party early this year. Even local radio stations, such as Radio One and Radio Plus, could not resist the temptation of inviting him to ‘free the beast’ (err! I mean to let go his talents) in grooving to the max the clubbers stuck home with their ears glued to the radio. Saving the best for last, is the fact that Clarel L took the initiative in creating the ‘IDEAL VIBES’ label which brings together DJs and wannabees to share their likings and all the things that makes DJing more than just spinning records in front of a mad crowd.
