Language: EnglishDJ Armalite is a young and rising DJ/Producer of Electronic dance music genres: Trance, Progressive House, Electro and various others.
Growing up in New Zealand, he began his love for music starting with Hip Hop and rap; influenced by artists / producers such as Dr. Dre, Braille and some underground artists. Genre-interests drifted towards rock as he took more notice of the beauty of vocal-melody and guitars – an instrument which he has self-taught and played since the age of 11.
Alongside Rock, just out of curiosity he decided to listen to some trance and learn what type of music it exactly is. Most of the time he realised people pointed out top40 or other commercial music as the best; but it was that one day that Dj Armalite listened to Sasha – Xpander, he realised how beautiful the melodies were within the song. It was from that moment that he began searching for more and more trance productions and came accross other great tracks such as Chicane – Saltwater. At this point Dj Armalite was completely “hooked” on to this type of music.
It was also from this point he realised that this is type of music he would love to produce. He was not a singer and would rather produce the actual tunes; and trance was the answer.
At the present time, he has gone as far as including his own vocals into his tracks, signed a couple of songs to labels and started widening his production genres from trance to progressive trance, progressive house, electro and breakbeats.
It is not for fame or cash, but for his love for music that DJ Armalite will eventually make it ‘there’ with his latest productions.
