Language: EnglishDef Jam Antarez started his career in DJ’ing back in 1994.
He has gained experience as a club DJ while working in club senario briefly.
After taking a break from 1997 to 2003, Def Jam Antarez mainly doing on mobile DJ’ing. For which, includes those needed in private parties, events, wedding etc. Also work as a sound/audio engineer who does sound engineering in studio and event.
In life, Def Jam Antarez has passion for music, and also in designing. He had set up a band in 1996 called Scyan and gained knowledge to learn to play several musical instruments. His main are the guitar and keyboard.
In 1998, Def Jam Antarez secured a contract and submitted his material for Warner-Chappell (Singapore) as a music composer/arranger for the malay music scene. Def Jam Antarez has produced some songs and still active composing and producing till today. With the band was disbanded in 2002, the contract with warner-chappell also comes to an end shortly.
He own a small label entertainment company named Xolo:lab productions, which he started in 2006. In 2003, restarted to build his DJ’ing career again to which he moved on to a new technology – the mp3 mixing software which was known as ejay djmixstation 2 from his earlier days using turntables and cd decks.
In 2006, Def Jam Antarez used Virtual DJ as his main DJ software and been using it with external hardware with/without timescodes on his gigs.
Currently being sponsored by Doldrum DJ wear for clothes.
He is very much active in the VDJ forum and sometimes in the Numark and Hercules forum.
His forum name is SpinnaJ and is one of the VDJ Moderator and mac beta tester.
Currently working as a full time Architectural-Interior Designer and a part time DJ.
Even though been busy with projects, gigs, composing and recording, he do find life is wonderful and the journey continues…..
