ALLENGIRL Biography
Some call it Sexy House. Others, call it Beach House. But it’s actually called Deep Soulful House. A special house genre which Allen Hernandez is very fond of even before she became a DJ. From a simple clubber during late 90’s, she started collecting cds from anthem house, trance to tribal house music. In 2003, a certain genre of house caught her attention. She frequented those bars who played them and found out they were hed kandi collections. There were only few DJs in the country who played them. Around the same time, she met DJ Manolet “Papi” Santos who became her mentor and thought her the basics of mixing in vinyl medium. Six months later, she was offered by DJ Papi a training residency at Elements Bar in Greenbelt, Makati. From July 15 to September 15, 2004, she worked side by side with other veteran DJs, Rocky Solarta, Tito Jante, Angelo de Dios and Verden Pilobello. Her residency at Elements paved way to many gigs in and out of town. In less than a year, she has already played in countless bars and clubs around the Metro. Her first major gig was Bora Bar’s first year anniversary, October of 2004. | read more
