ADRIO Biography
Not a starving artist. Not a delinquent seeking refuge in the music industry. Not a money-hungry individual depending on other’s wages for fame and success. His drive consists of faith and a dream waiting to explode within him. Originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, DJ Adrio has now made the U.S. his home. Inspired by musical talent in his family, Adrio sought out to expose music in a different perspective. He specializes in house music, but loves music from different parts of the world: hip hop, r&b, dance, trance, rock, 80s, 90s, classics, disco, salsa, merengue, cumbia, rancheras… no matter what style one cannot resist the urge to get up and dance to celebrate the life his music selection and presence brings to any event. DJ Adrio has been spinning since 1997 until present day. Starting from scratch and on his own. Among his struggles he delivered pizza to be able to afford the costly equipment required for DJing. At that time he was mixing on belt-drive tables and started spinning any records he could get his hands on. He began mixing his mom’s oldies, then later started playing hard house music at various parties. From hard house, he spun trance, goa-trance, progressive trance… well you get the picture. After feeling comfortable with that, he moved onto house music and found a passion for the house scene. His funky/latin/deep style house is sometimes imitated, but never duplicated. Many will agree that a DJ Adrio performance is “Best heard live!” He is inspired by the electronic dance community. Adrio is touched by the varying music worldwide and strives on obtaining unity through the music. He is driven to perform as a respectable DJ-who is not a symbol of the negative image the music scene may reflect His thrill is seeing how masses of people from across the globe with different backgrounds, genders, race, age, & life preferences come together as one to enjoy the beauty of music. We live, we learn, we dance, we enjoy! We love music! DJ Adrio continues his pursuit as a well-known DJ until present day. Now playing hip hop at local clubs and spinning at private parties. His recent accomplishment is taking the plunge into the latin community. He knows little Spanish, but he can sure make people dance! He has achieved his dream as a DJ. He does not need magazine, television, or any other mainstream recognition. He knows it. People who’ve seen him know it. Enough said!
